Founded in 2017 by Amalia Săftoiu, Ami Amalia redefines luxury knitwear through sustainability, individuality, and ethical craftsmanship. Starting in Oradea, Transylvania, the brand launched as an international ecommerce, direct-to-consumer business, initially relying on subcontractor factories in the region. By 2019, Ami Amalia began building its own knitting factories in Transylvania, expanding into knitwear design and product development. All production remains dedicated to direct sales, and soon new equipment is being installed to double production capacity, ensuring the brand can scale while maintaining quality. The brand is committed to 100% direct sourcing and uses premium natural yarns, with over 95% sourced from heritage Italian mills.
